Discovering God’s Story in Early Childhood
At New Covenant School Preschool, early learning is seen as the beginning of a child’s understanding of both the world and their place within God’s story. Through the theme “Discovering God’s Story in People and Places,” children are guided to explore their identities, relationships, and surroundings in a way that reflects God’s love and design.
A Mission Rooted in Care and Community
Our mission is to serve families by providing a high-quality early childhood program grounded in godly wisdom and care. In this nurturing environment, children are encouraged to grow not only academically, but also socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Teachers create classrooms where each child feels known and valued, allowing them to develop confidence and curiosity through meaningful experiences.
The Daniel Model in a Christian Preschool
An important part of our approach is the Daniel Model, which emphasizes developing children who are both spiritually grounded and thoughtfully engaged with the world around them. In the preschool setting, this model is introduced in age-appropriate ways, encouraging children to grow in character, make wise choices, and begin to understand truth through a biblical lens.
Through everyday interactions, children practice qualities such as courage, humility, and integrity, aligning closely with our Six Words of Servanthood. Whether learning to share, showing kindness to a friend, or asking thoughtful questions, students begin to see that their actions matter and can reflect God’s love. The Daniel Model helps frame these moments as part of a larger purpose, guiding children to grow not only in knowledge, but in wisdom and faith.
Learning Through Play and Exploration
Central to our approach is the belief that play is essential to learning. Through hands-on, play-based activities, children build language, problem-solving, and social skills in natural and engaging ways. Whether they are exploring materials, listening to stories, or collaborating with peers, each moment becomes an opportunity for growth and discovery.

The Five Domains of Development
Our curriculum is structured around five key domains of development:
language and literacy
mathematics
social-emotional learning
physical development
cognitive growth
These areas are not taught in isolation, but are woven together throughout the day. From early phonics instruction using the Heggerty program to hands-on math exploration and Christ-centered character development, each experience is designed to prepare children for future learning while nurturing their hearts.
A Balanced and Intentional Daily Rhythm
Daily routines provide a balance of structure and flexibility, including time for chapel, academic learning, creative exploration, and outdoor play. This rhythm helps children feel secure while encouraging independence and curiosity.
Preparing Children for What Comes Next
As students prepare to transition to Kindergarten, they do so with more than foundational academic skills. They leave with a sense of confidence, an understanding of community, and an awareness of God’s presence in their everyday lives.
A Strong Foundation for Lifelong Learning
New Covenant School Preschool offers families in the Lexington, Massachusetts area a distinct approach to early education, one that blends strong academics, joyful learning, and spiritual formation into a meaningful and lasting foundation.
