Spiritual
Formation
NCS is driven by a desire to worship and serve God faithfully in all we do. The vision and core values of our school are guided by our Daniel Model and founding biblical principals.

Before we are a community of learning, we are a community of worship.
Forming the Mind & Heart
At New Covenant School, everything begins with Jesus Christ and flows from the confession that He is Lord of all. Our days, our relationships, our teaching, and our culture are rooted in worship, orienting our hearts toward God and forming children who learn to live attentively, receptively, and responsively to Him. Learning is an act of discipleship, and our first calling as a school is to lead children into a life shaped by the presence, wisdom, and love of God.
Virtues That Shape Life Together
Our formation is anchored in six core virtues drawn from the life and character of Daniel:
Courage, Humility, Respect, Integrity, Seeker of God, and Teachability.
These Six Words are not slogans; they are habits of heart, mind, and life. They are practiced daily in relationships, discipline, academics, and play. They invite every member of our community (students, staff, and families) to pursue a way of life shaped by Christ and empowered by the Spirit. These virtues form the acronym C.H.R.I.S.T., reminding us that our identity is in Him and our lives are for Him.
A Culture Where Learning Is Discipleship
Because “all of life is lived under the Lordship of Jesus Christ,” we teach Christianly, meaning our instructional practices, classroom design, assessment, and community expectations all reflect a biblical vision of human flourishing. We view subjects not as neutral content areas but as ways of knowing and loving God and neighbor. Whether through math, science, literature, or hands-on learning experiences, students discover that God is present and sovereign over every discipline.
Formation in Wisdom and Love
The goal of all Christian education is to cultivate a growing capacity for wise, loving servanthood. True wisdom is more than intelligence; it is the ability to discern the good, resist the false, and live faithfully in a world filled with competing narratives. True love is more than sentiment; it is pursuing the highest good of God and neighbor with one’s whole life.
Everything at NCS, our pedagogy, our relationships, our discipline, our curriculum, aims at this: helping children learn how to love God with heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love their neighbors as themselves.

A Community of Worship
Our school day begins with worship because worship orients the heart. In daily chapel, children learn the Scriptures, encounter God through song and teaching, and grow in their ability to listen to His voice. Chapel is led by our Spiritual Formation Team, guest pastors, and faculty, and each gathering reinforces our belief that our identity, wisdom, and calling flow from Christ alone.
Throughout the day, prayer is woven naturally into the life of every classroom - before lessons, in times of conflict resolution, during moments of gratitude, and as part of daily routines that remind children of God’s presence.
Scripture-Centered Teaching
Scripture is our authoritative guide for life and learning. Rather than treating the Bible as a separate “subject,” we teach and integrate biblical truth across all areas of study. Students learn how God’s Word shapes their understanding of the world, informs discernment, and grounds them in what is good, beautiful, and true. They learn to read Scripture carefully, apply it meaningfully, and practice living it out.
